About After Intelligence

Our Mission

As AI systems become increasingly capable and ubiquitous, the questions they raise extend far beyond the technical. What does it mean to create when machines can generate images, text, and code? How do we ensure these powerful technologies serve human flourishing rather than extraction and control? What futures are we building, and who gets to decide?

After Intelligence creates space for these urgent conversations. We convene diverse voices—not just technologists, but artists, ethicists, policy makers, and community members—to grapple with AI's challenges and possibilities from multiple perspectives.

Four Pillars

The series is organized around four interconnected themes:

• AI & Creative Practice — Exploring how AI transforms artistic creation, challenges authorship, and opens new aesthetic possibilities.
• Ethical Positions — Confronting the moral dimensions of AI: bias, surveillance, labor, and the politics of machine intelligence.
• Futures & Speculation — Imagining what comes next through speculative design, science fiction prototyping, and critical imagination.
• AI & Materiality — Grounding the digital in the physical: environmental costs, infrastructure, and the embodied realities of AI.
